Carrying on our “How to” series (see last week’s How to wear Shorts to Work, and also How to wear Lace to Work and How to wear Coloured Shoes) how can you wear denim to work?

Denim doesn’t have to be strictly for casual Fridays – but if you have a very strict dress code it is best to save it for Friday.

My top ideas for denim in the work place:

Denim pencil skirt

This is a fabulous look and a nice change from a navy skirt.

Denim skirts

Denim shirt

A lovely alternative to a blue button down shirt.

They look great over charcoal, navy or black pants. Add pearl earrings, a necklace and matching shoes for a very elegant, classic look.

Denim Jacket

Looks amazing over a lovely maxi dress for summer, or a woolen tunic and brown or black boots for winter.

They also look great with a white or check shirt over navy dress pants and navy court shoes. This is easy to wear and very classy for work. I would suggest this look for the days when you aren’t having meetings with clients or management.

A denim jacket can be dressed up or left casual. For a more dressed up look keep the denim dark and always keep your jacket fitted.

Overall, denim can be a versatile addition to your work wardrobe.
